To protect and preserve a sustainable operational environment that future generations can enjoy, The Guard Alliance has outlined the following policy to empower our employees as effective environmental stewards.

We recognize the impact our business activities may have on the environment. To manage these impacts and reduce our carbon footprint, The Guard Alliance strives to:

  • Assess potential and actual environmental effects of all activities in all parts of the business
  • Promote environmental awareness among our clients, employees, and stakeholders
  • Implement measures to preserve and protect natural habitats, fauna, and flora

  • Factor environmental considerations into investment decisions
  • Manage our processes to minimize and avoid waste
  • Actively work to reduce our energy and fuel use

The commitments listed above will be applied to all aspects of our operations; nonetheless, The Guard Alliance will prioritize areas where approved changes are expected to have the greatest impact. Wherever possible, our team members will adhere to best practices outlined in security industry resources, as well as any materials provided by our clients and vendors.

Environmental and energy legislation

The Guard Alliance complies with all relevant environmental and energy legislation in every jurisdiction where we conduct business. Site supervisors receive instructions to help them apply best practices in all aspects of our business operations. We will also adhere to standards laid out by governing bodies and contribute to the ongoing development of those standards where possible.

We deploy local teams to help ensure speedy response times. This also allows us to reduce our overall carbon footprint by cutting down on the time our guards spend traveling to job sites. 

Effective communication

The Guard Alliance will ensure the availability of information relating to environmental protection. Clients often provide us with environmental policies related to specific job sites, which we disseminate to our employees through training, instructions, and supervision. When environmental concerns are raised, our guards will ensure that they document any related observations in their daily reports.
